Hey guys,

The Douglas Furs have only really been going since November and due mostly to poverty, we are still using the amps provided by Rich Bitch rather than buying our own.

My question is that we recently played a gig in Bearwood with guitars and bass fed directly into the P.A system. Is this common place in Brum? Or are we going to have to start saving for massive amps?
Hi Douglas.

First of all a BIG

to answer your question,

Hope to hear from you again.
Depends on the size of the venue. Some pubs/clubs like my local keep their own in-house PA so you just need to bring your backline guitar amps etc, others expect you to bring your own PA.
It's always handy if you can find a nice man with a PA system.
I've never played anywhere that has fed guitars into a PA, sounds like an awful idea to me!

Go buy some amps, it really is bare minimum! If a place doesn't have it's own PA then it's probably not worth playing there, supplying your own PA is too much hard work, and far too expensive!

I've not gigged that much outside the centre of birmingham, and I know a lot of posh functions (wedding receptions etc) require bands to bring a PA as most marquees don't have them built in Sad
