Hi

I'm Tom. I'm the guitarist (well... one of two) in "The Connotations" (you may have heard of us... lol... nah of course you won't have hehe).

Check us out here: http://myspace.com/theconnotations

Well... we are all very VERY new to the music scene, ie: no gigs yet, and finding it difficult to get any... and no proper recordings, only what we've done in my bedroom lmao. =) Its all a bit amateurish at the moment.

If anyone can help me anytime with tips on how to get gigs, where to look to find venues, infact ANY help whatsoever, that would be absolutely great.

Also, if you have any constructive criticism on our music then please go ahead and tell me. =)

Thanks
tom

Hi Tom.

First of all

WELCOME to the Forum.

Where are you based?

Hopefully our members, will help you with some suggestions,
about gigs, locally.

Tom.I've checked out your site,
it looks good.
The songs are snappy, and don't worry too much about the bedroom sounds,
as I should know, I've made loads out of recordings made in bedrooms.

There are record companies, looking around MySpace sites,
and I for one have had genuine contracts offered.

However, your songs could benefit from a studio production,
which need not cost much!
From experience, record companies, these days,
do not like throwing money around bringing
bands up to scratch.
They LIKE a master, then they have something they can re-master,
and market themselves.

Worth thinking about Tom.

Also find yourself a niche,SOUND DIFFERENT.
