BookingTakers

Hi,
I know this may be a little off topic but I'd value your opinion if you have a couple of minutes. I'm doing a little market research on how bands take bookings and I'd value your experiences / opinion.
Quick background (you can skip this bit)
While arranging my recent wedding I got rather frustrated trying to get hold of venues, DJs, caterers etc to see the services they offered, how much they cost (just a ball park) if they were free on one of the dates we were thinking off. Being a bit of a geek, after the wedding (and honeymoon), I decided to put together a simple online booking system so that I could see what people were offering, how much it cost and if they were free.
Your Help
I've now finished a first version of this system with a bit of help from a graphic designer friend and I've had a lot of interest from mobile DJs and hairdressers (and a lot of alternative medicine practitioners for some reason) but I was wondering if it would be of use to independent bands looking to take bookings for weddings, parties, pubs etc. To this end I'd like to know a little more about how you advertise and how you get bookings.
- How do you take bookings at the moment? (email, phone, website form, agent)
- Do you have a website / facebook page / mySpace page for your band?
- What sort of advanced notice do you need for a booking?
- Do you normally expect a PA / lighting to be provided by the promoter / customer or do you bring your own?
If you can spare the time to look at the site itself, that would be great. You can find it at http://www.BookingTakers.com and any feedback you can give would be really appreciated. Either post here or use the feedback form on the bottom of every page.
One last question, which do you think is a better name OpenYourDiary or BookingTakers?
Thanks
Alex
