My name's Tom, 22, and I'll be moving to Birmingham come October to start a PhD at the University.
I'm a fan of quite a wide range of music, but mainly focused around the more alternative side of alternative. Things like Aereogramme, A Silver Mt Zion, anything that packs a whole lot of emotion with a whole lot of experimentation really. Oh, and I love folk music.
I'm also a big fan of bands such as R.E.M., Yes, Neil Young, Pink Floyd, Brand New, Bob Dylan, Cursive, Bright Eyes, King Creosote, Fleet Foxes, Iron and Wine, etc etc.
Hopefully this forum will be a source of knowledge of the Birmingham music scene, perhaps I may even start a band with some of you someday.
