Just thought it would be worth mentioning that there are the obvious spammers who post links to other sites blatantly, but also, I have noticed a few members who post silly nonsense and reply to posts with links in their signatures that direct to a website they are tryingto promote.

Personally I think it's fine if they have a genuine input and interest in the forum but it's a bit annoying knowing people are just posting to boost a website. It's not a major problem but one I thought worth mentioning.

I am constantly monitoring these type of posts,
and in the past have deleted, some of 'silly' ones.
However, of late, they seemed to have ceased.
As far as the 'obvious' spammers, it is not always clear,
as to if they are, or not.
I delete obvious, links to other Unsigned sites.
What I want to avoid is deleting at will, as some are genuine,
and could be helpful to our members.
In any case, if we we did have a purge,
we would be left with very few posts at all.
Striking the happy medium, is the hardest course of all.
With any Forum, one must have traffic and activity, for interest to be sustained.
It may not all be good, but the alternative would be a slow and lifeless community!

I see your point Keith, I guess it is harmless stuff. You're doing a grand job as the posts I think of removing when I look again you've already quarantined them ;)

I'd also like to add.
I am the Part Owner/Moderator,
of a forum for a legendary American movie star,
and we are currently witnessing the demise
of the family's 'Official' forum,
due to dictorial administration!

A keen eye, is all that's required!
In our world, I think it's called 'Moderation'

A keen eye indeed, I'd go for quality over quantity any day. Just really wish I had more time to help out with the forum but very stretched of late. I initially invested many hours graphically designing unsignedcity.com with a programmer paid by Temi. Also have spent much time building links etc, pleased it's doing so well with search engines and nice to see people starting to use the forum a bit more.
