Hi everyone,
Thought it would be a good idea, to have a free and easy discussion
thread where any subject (within reason) can be discussed.
Most of the threads are topical, so for any Off Topic subjects,
feel free!

RE: Spencer Davis Group
Don't think so,
I guess we could both 'nudge' him.
I also have a hyperlink to his site,
as, indeed he does with ours!
Hi SJ,
As we had gone Off topic, thought, better
start this thread!

SJ.
The Locomotive,
You're spot on, in fact although stated none of the band went on to do anything at all!!
One of my 'moans' to John at Brumbeat, with some of the Brumbeat books, that are being re-released is, that VF is not mentioned at all, even it was one of a handful of bands to
have a record release, and the only one, apart from an elite few, to have a 'cult' album.
which now this month is re-released for the third time, would you believe as an LP!!!

Well hopefully the Fogg and a few other deserved bands will get a bit of due exposure mate.
I think that the tracks on the Loco myspace profile show how psychedelia seemed to be so close to prog rock, I think the late 60's and early 70's seem to blend in quite a bit but it was maybe IMO a turn off for some as many of the early 70's prog tracks are not radio friendly and have extremely long interludes and breakdowns, actually I guess that happened with a few 60's groups as well, I am thinking in particular of 'Inna Gadda Da Vida' by Iron Butterfly as a 60's example and a few Aphrodites child tracks from about 1971 that both go on endlessly, both to my taste but I can see how others preferred the 3 minute (or there abouts) radio edits which often lost the overall appeal of certain tracks.

I notice even with Velvett Fogg II,
Frank is leaning more toward Progressive,
however with my Psych lyrics, it keeps in check!
