The George Hotel

The George Hotel in the centre of Walsall,
was a great venue for showcasing the local talent,
particularly, the Black Country Bands,
such as Ambrose Slade and others.
My own bands
Paint and Jardine
appeared here regularly,
eiother as main attraction or support
to the more 'famous' bands such as Slade
Many of the local 'celebs' would be present,
such as Robert Plant.
Record scouts would also book into the hotel,
and check out the bands on show.
The venue had a super atmosphere,
with a good large dance area,
and seperate bar area, where you could
socilaize and mix with the famous.
The venue was directly opposite
another exciting club, Walsall Casino.
