Hi Allan,

WELCOME to the Forum.

It's great to have you on board.
I'm normally here this time of night,
making sure everything is OK.

Please feel free to look around,
particulally, '60's Brum bands,
perhaps you can add your band to this?

Hello mate, would we know anyof the bands you played in?

I was lucky enough to work at Rockfield Studios as a school leaver and sat and watched/listened to the late Rob Collins of the Charlatans on Hammond, such an amazing instrument but so bloody heavy.

SJ,

Speaking about being heavy,
my old friend and fellow musician
Chris Brown of The Band Of Joy (http://www.unsignedcity.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=25)
had his Hammmond sawn in half,
with each half equipped with clip in plugs,
so it was easier to carry!!

Frank Wilson, and my keyboard player,,
with Velvett Fogg, related to me, that when The Fogg,
were recording the album, Jack Dorsey, the producer at Pye Records,
made the band carry his Hammond up and down several flights of stairs,
each day, whilst they were recording!!
You can imagine, what a nightmare that was!

lol... wouldn't fancy lugging one of those around too much, I do like the portability of new synths but you just can't get the same sound.
